Since then our travelling escort has been innovation. Without comparison, innovation is the most crucial key element in our steady strives towards improving electric movement. Around 1990, at the first stop on the street, we were already able to present the system approach. We combined first time our noiseless actuators with control systems. Advanced control boxes enter the journey Our solutions were well accepted, and new customers joined the ride. For instance the market welcomed our waterproof control boxes for hospital beds with features like battery back up and a quick-release function. It matched the market demand as early as 1991 and created value for the users of our systems. Another milestone was passed with the microprocessor control boxes of 1993. Combining features like the attendant control panels with an even waterproof design, the innovative journey made yet another generation of faithful LINAK partners take a seat on the ride. Patient lift systems join us When the JUMBO™ system entered the journey in 1995, the world saw a complete plug-and-play system combining actuator, control and a battery-pack. Prepared for patient lifts, it was wrapped into an elegant, functional design. By taking our control boxes on board the tour, we were always envisaging the possibility to constantly innovate the use of our electric actuators and lifting columns. And we steadily focus on one aim in particular, namely creating safe and reliable products with a competitive performance. The JUMBO system exemplifies both Pursuing control box solutions During the 1990ies LINAK continued the tour developing new control boxes. Whether boxes were to be used in home care beds, in advanced hospital beds, in a dialysis chair or in a massage couch, LINAK was able to deliver. The trip continued in pursuing control box solutions in various and competitive designs to match the current market and the need of our valued customers. One example stems from 1996-7 when we were able to pick up new famous passengers: a wide range of safety precautions built into the control boxes. Further solutions and value for the world’s hospital and care sectors as well as equipment manufacturers made our journey popular. In 2000 we developed a control box for the care bed industry in particular and in 2005 a new functional design for a JUMBO controller was in place. OPENBUS is our new vehicle The first OPENBUS control box was presented in 2005. Rather than being another co-traveler we consider it a brand new vehicle. In addition to controlling LINAK actuators and columns, our control systems are now developed in an open digital communication platform enabling our customers to offer futureproof solutions to the sectors. This is what we call OPENBUS™ All in all, in 2008 a whole range of control boxes are fit for a range of purposes, where control and motion need to be combined. One thing holds true in 2008. Another journey has just begun, and a new vehicle for bringing innovation for the benefit of our customers and stakeholders is ready. We are ready to sell tickets for another trip into the future.
